Following the events of Chapter 1, Yuji Itadori is taken to Tokyo Jujutsu High after swallowing Ryomen Sukuna's finger and becoming his vessel. Satoru Gojo, the powerful jujutsu sorcerer, explains that Yuji’s fate is to be decided by the higher-ups of the jujutsu world, who are likely to order his execution due to the danger Sukuna poses. However, Gojo convinces them to postpone Yuji’s death, proposing that Yuji collect all of Sukuna’s fingers first, as destroying them could eliminate Sukuna’s threat permanently. This buys Yuji time, but he’s now under constant scrutiny.

At Jujutsu High, Yuji meets Megumi Fushiguro again, who is recovering from the incident at Sugisawa High School. Megumi is skeptical of Yuji’s reckless decision to become Sukuna’s vessel but acknowledges his resolve to save others. Gojo introduces Yuji to the school’s principal, Masamichi Yaga, who tests Yuji’s worthiness to join the school. Yaga questions Yuji’s motivations, emphasizing that jujutsu sorcerers often face death and must have unwavering resolve. Yuji, reflecting on his grandfather’s dying wish to help others, declares his determination to live a life of purpose by fighting curses, even if it means risking his own life. Satisfied with Yuji’s conviction, Yaga accepts him as a student.

To demonstrate the dangers of cursed objects, Gojo takes Yuji and Megumi on a mission to retrieve another of Sukuna’s fingers, located at a juvenile detention center overrun by cursed spirits. Gojo assigns the task to Yuji and Megumi, staying back to observe. Inside the facility, they encounter powerful curses, and Yuji’s lack of experience in jujutsu becomes evident as he relies on his physical strength. During the mission, Yuji briefly loses control, allowing Sukuna to surface momentarily, hinting at the constant threat of Sukuna taking over.

The chapter ends with Yuji and Megumi facing a dangerous situation in the detention center, setting up the challenges of Yuji’s new life as a sorcerer and the ongoing struggle to control Sukuna’s power within him.
