Chapter 3 continues Yuji Itadori’s first mission at the juvenile detention center, alongside Megumi Fushiguro, to retrieve one of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers. The chapter opens with Yuji and Megumi inside the facility, confronting a powerful cursed spirit. The cursed spirit is drawn to the immense energy of Sukuna’s finger, making the situation more dangerous. Megumi explains to Yuji the basics of cursed energy and how jujutsu sorcerers use it to fight, highlighting Yuji’s inexperience since he relies solely on his physical strength and the residual power from Sukuna’s finger.

As they navigate the detention center, the cursed spirit ambushes them, capturing Yuji and threatening to kill him. Megumi, using his Divine Dogs shikigami, fights to protect Yuji but is cautious about overexerting himself. Meanwhile, Yuji, trapped by the curse, reflects on his grandfather’s words about helping others and finds his resolve to fight for his own purpose.
